Occupational Therapist

Kirsty is a registered Occupational Therapist. She obtained her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). 

Kirsty has a unique blend of skills aimed at helping children, toddler through to early adult, live life to the fullest, both physically and mentally.  She has expertise in the following:

  • Fine motor skills (handwriting, dressing skills, cutlery use, etc.)
  • Feeding (picky eating)
  • Self-care skills (dressing, toileting, bathing, etc.)
  • Gross motor skills (balance, core strength, throwing/catching, etc.)
  • Sensory processing and regulation 
  • Executive functioning (attention, organization, planning, problem solving, etc.)
  • School readiness skills
  • Social skills
  • Mental health support, including emotional regulation and emotional expression

Kirsty has completed additional training in psychotherapy, giving her a specialized approach with clients.  Kirsty merges counselling with occupational therapy to provide a holistic and personalized approach for each client that includes both mental health support and engagement in daily life skills.

Kirsty uses evidence-based and play-based approaches to inspire motivation and engagement in the strategies. She believes in developing a strong therapeutic relationship and incorporating kiddos’ specific interests to help therapy be an enjoyable experience rather than a chore. 

Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys spending time with her 4 fur babies, learning more about the world and the humans in it, being with friends and being active. Kirsty believes in maintaining a balanced life and staying connected to the things that bring her joy and inspiration.
