Mental Health
Mental health is the overall wellness of how you think, regulate your feelings and behave. When there are disruptions to your child’s mental health, it can impact school, relationships, and developmental milestones. Helping equip young people with the skills to first become aware of their mental health and then, second, to learn strategies to steer thoughts and actions towards confidence and resilience are lifelong benefits. Our therapists are focused on helping young children, teens and young adults to better understand themselves, their choices, their thoughts and their emotions, with the long-term goal of increased confidence and resilience.
Here are some signs your child may be experiencing some mental health challenges:
- A sudden drop in grades, refusing to go to school, or a lack of focus
- Pulling away from friends, family, or activities they previously enjoyed.
- Acting out, extreme defiance, or engaging in dangerous activities
- Significant weight loss or overeating uncontrollably
- Trouble concentrating or remembering things, impacting their ability to do basic schoolwork or play
