Pre-teen social-emotional group (ages 10-13)

This group is for pre-teen girls aged 10-13 who are having difficulties with managing their emotions and it is potentially impacting social relationships. In the group we will explore and dive deeper into understanding the emotions using various lenses, including considering how puberty maybe playing a factor.  We will also discuss strategies to navigate the complexities of social interactions and relationships (i.e. boundaries, perspective taking, etc.) while keeping emotions regulated and manageable.

Considerations:

  • Family/child must be comfortable with the topic of menstrual cycle being discussed during session.

  • Consent forms to be signed by child (if over the age of 12) or caregiver (if under 12)

Developed and implemented by an Occupational Therapist who is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
