Registered Occupational Therapist
Jennifer is a Registered Occupational Therapist who is a member in Good Standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2005. Jennifer has 18 years of clinical experience working in a hospital or community setting in the areas of neurological impairment and traumatic brain injury/concussion, amputation, spinal cord injury, and other medical conditions requiring occupational therapy intervention. She has experience working with clients to improve or restore fine and gross motor skills, executive dysfunction and other cognitive skills, and enabling participation in meaningful activities of daily living.
Jennifer strives to provide exceptional care that facilitates client and family-centred goals. Being a parent herself, she has focused on learning about co-regulation and other strategies that help calm an anxious child. She uses an evidence-based approach to guide her practice and continues to expand her knowledge through continuing education, clinical experience, and self-directed learning. Jennifer is also a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
Jennifer believes that everyone has the potential to learn and grow in life. She is passionate about working with children and their families to develop the knowledge and skills to allow for successful engagement in meaningful activities and play. She collaborates with parents, teachers, and other team members to provide the support needed to promote independence at home or school. Outside of providing therapy, Jennifer is a loyal “hockey mom” and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
