OT Reg. (Ont.)
Occupational Therapist
Kirsty completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto after receiving her Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology. She is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Kirsty has previously worked as an occupational therapist within the private setting, using a family-centred approach to provide services to children 0-18. She has experience with fine motor skills, school readiness skills, executive functioning, ADL skills, self-regulation and sensory processing. She also has experience supporting children with various mental health needs and working with families to incorporate strategies to promote mental health.
Kirsty strives to help families and children achieve their goals with respects to engaging and participating in everyday activities. She uses evidence-based and play-based approaches to inspire motivation and engagement in the strategies. She believes that by being creative and finding a way to connect strategies to a child’s interests, children are more likely to achieve their goals with a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment.
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys living an active lifestyle and spending time with her family and her two cats.
