Fadak Raza
Registered Psychotherapist (RP)
You might choose to work with Fadak if you’re looking for a therapist who specializes in supporting children and youth through early intervention, prevention, and the development of foundational emotional skills. Fadak is a Registered Psychotherapist who believes that giving children the tools to understand their emotions, communicate their needs, cope with challenges, and build confidence early in life can create a strong foundation for their continued growth and well-being.
Fadak supports children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, emotional and behavioural challenges, ADHD, low self-esteem, perfectionism, school-related stress, peer and friendship difficulties, family changes, grief, trauma, and challenges with emotional regulation. Her approach is warm, collaborative, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to each young person’s individual needs, strengths, personality, and interests.
She works with young people to strengthen emotional awareness, regulation, communication, coping, problem-solving, resilience, and self-confidence. Her goal is to equip children with practical skills they can carry with them as they grow and encounter new experiences and challenges.
As a person of colour, Fadak also brings an awareness of the ways culture, identity, family expectations, community, and lived experiences can intersect with a young person’s emotional well-being. She is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and approaches each child and family with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect rather than making assumptions about their experiences. She strives to create an inclusive therapeutic environment where young people and families from diverse backgrounds feel seen, respected, and comfortable bringing all parts of their identities into the therapeutic space.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, play-based interventions, and strengths-based approaches, Fadak works to make therapy engaging, approachable, and meaningful for young clients. She also values collaboration with parents and caregivers, recognizing their important role in helping children practise and strengthen therapeutic skills beyond the therapy room.
