Rachel Scott
Registered Psychotherapist
Rachel is a Registered Psychotherapist. She holds her Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University College and Seminary and a degree in Health Studies from McMaster University. Her method to working with a child and their family is through a family systems approach and attachment based perspective. Understanding a child within the context of their larger family, cultural and societal environments is also crucial to her work.
Rachel has worked in various settings over the past 10 years serving children, youth (ages 6-18) and their families in the Hamilton and Halton Region within individual, group and family contexts. Rachel practices Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). She has experience and knowledge in the following areas: ADHD, ASD, Anger Management, Anxiety, Attachment, Behavioural Challenges, Depression, Emotional Regulation, Learning Disabilities, Parent Coaching, Self-Harm, Suicidality, Social Skills, Self-Esteem.
Rachel offers an empathic, integrative, honest and strength based approach to therapy and works within an anti-oppressive framework. She is a compassionate, creative and intuitive therapist who is passionate and honored to partner with children and families as they journey and grow towards greater depths of healing.
